“I’m always doing that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn to do it”

Hi, I’m Karen and I am a Ph.D. Student at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ
I have a Masters in Information Systems from Pace University (Seidenberg School), New York City, specializing in User Experience Research and Design, Product Development, and Business Analytics.
I enjoy working with people to create solutions that can make everyday lives better!
Some of my industry skills include design thinking, product development, problem space research, creating user flows and wireframes, building user interface mockups and prototypes based on user feedback, and have done mixed methods research on most of my projects (career and academia) to understand what exists v/s what the users have preferred and used.
I believe that my greatest forte is adaptability as I am someone who can fit into any team or learn any new skill without losing focus.
I have a few publications in Human-Computer Interaction, Wearable Technology, and design of Socio-Technical Systems (Check out Publications Tab) where I used design thinking for research that required applicative knowledge and involved comprehensive research methods, including (but not limited to) usability testing, surveys, focus group moderation, interviewing, persona creation, heuristic evaluation, and participatory design workshops.
